How to permantely remove OneNote Icon from the system tray

I opened OneNote after intalling Microsoft Office 2010 and now the system tray shows the icon. I right click on it and it close and it closes it but the next time i reboot my computer it reappears. How do i get it to stop?

Hey Addi,

there are two ways of doing this.

First - go to run and type in msconfig. A system configuration box will open and go to the Startup Tab and scroll down to Microsoft oneNote and uncheck it. THat will prevent it from starting up. See the attached image. the second way is within OneNote itself.

The second way is to go into OneNote - File - Options - Display and uncheck "Place OneNote icon in the notification area of the taskbar."
