Outlook 2007 - Onenote 2010
Hi,
I used Office 2007 and all my posts I could send from Outlook to Onenote (there was an addin and an icon). But now I have Office Home and Student 2010. And now in Outlook 2007 there is no addin (icon) to send e.mails from Outlook to Onenote.
Any suggestions?
I have Windows 7 home editidon.
Just so i am clear. It appears that the issue you're having is that you Upgraded your OneNote 2007 to OneNote 2010. Your Outlook still remains as 2007 version and you're unable to send posts or emails from Outlook 2007 directly into Outlook? Is this correct?
Hi, yes the problem seems to be what you are writing.
But, I had a lot of problems with upgrading to 2010. I need to have Excel, Word and POwer POint 2007 as well as the 2010 version.
SO I have on my computer:
Word, Excel and Power point 2007 and 2010
Outlook 2007
and OneNote 2010.
I tried to find an addin for OneNote, but ther is nozning in my options.

Boy that is difficult. Office 2007 and Office 2010 were not intended to be installed and running on the same machine! I'm curious why you need both 2007 and 2010 versions on your computer? Do you provide IT support?
Go into Outlook 2007 and right click on an email. Is there a OneNote option in that right click menu?
If not, I think your best way to get this working is to uinstall Outlook 2007. Install Outlook 2010 (trial) and make sure the onenote integration is working. Then uninstall Outlook 2010 and reinstall 2007.
Hi,
First: that was a very bad decision, I had one day full of work trying to get the previus situation on my computer, where only OneNote is missing. I would rather not tell everything except: it was disturbing.
And, no, there is not an option with right clicking.
Then: why I need the 2007 Office also? I am making educational movies for 2007 for students. So I need it! And I like 2010 so I need it to work over other things (Power Point, Word and Excel)
Situation:
Now I cannot send my important e-mails to OneNote as text, only as picture (printing option). So whenever I need a part of text, I have to rewrite it. But at least I have all datas I want. And since one can search over pictures also, it is not so hard.
But still, why there is not a simple way to send from Outlook 2007 to OneNote 2010? With all funcionality Office has? It seems as they (programers) do not have control over some things (and this is for certain, since the options of the programs are endless).
So, I will not buy a new Outlook for so high price only to have an option to send the mails to OneNOte. :-)
Best regards, Natasa
I just submitted this to a Microsoft Engineer. I'll let you know what i find out.
Thank you for your attentiveness.

From your description, I understand that you are unable to send an e-mail to OneNote 2010 from Outlook 2007. If I have misunderstood, please let me know.
Based on my test, we can use Outlook 2007 with OneNote 2010.
To narrow down the root cause of this issue, I’d like to check the following situations:
1. Is the Office 2010 32-bit or 64-bit?
2. In Outlook 2007, click Tools -> Trust Center -> Add-ins, make sure the “OneNote Notes about Outlook Items†add-in is under the “Active Application Add-ins†list. Please capture a screenshot of this page and send to me via Private message or post it to this thread.
3. If you right-click an e-mail in Inbox, can you see the OneNote icon?
Please let me know the above information so that I can provide you with further suggestions.
HI and thank you for concern.
I do not know where to look either is 2010 32-bit or 64-bit, please, tell me. My Windows 7 are 32-bit.
Regarding 2. and 3. I have tried all this. Im am attaching you the pictures of both options.

In case I did something wrong with this, here is the link to both pictures:

(Yes, I did it wrong. So, see the pictures on my Web, please)

thank you. one more question. go to Outlook - inbox and right click on an email. Do you see an option for OneNote? Or a OneNote icon in this menu setting?
No, here I am sending picture.
.

According to the screenshot, we can see that the “OneNote Notes about Outlook Items†add-in is not listed in the “Active Application Add-ins†list. Neither does it exists in other lists.
At this point, I suggest you perform the following steps:
1. On the page in the screenshot, select Manage COM Add-ins, click Go
2. Click Add, and add the following dll:
C:\Program Files (X86)\Microsoft Office\Office 14\ONBttNOL.dll
3. Click OK and make sure the “OneNote Notes about Outlook Items†is enabled.
After that, please restart Outlook and test the result. I appreciate your time and look forward to your reply.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Now is all OK!
I will forward your advice to our clark, who did not know how to arrange this!
Best regards and have a wonderfull day!
great.
I have followed precisely the instructions to add the ONBttnOL.dll file although in my case its the 64bit version so in program files and for some reason the 'n' is lower case while the example given was upper case. But I click on open and then am returned the COM Add-Ins manage screen and it's still not there!
Does the OneNote button actually ever appear and work in the 64bit edition of Office 2010?
