Over the last two days I have been getting Error 0x80040115 when Sending/Receiving Email through Outlook. The error message says - "Sending and receiving reported error (0x80040115). The connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action." Never received this error before and am wondering if it has something to do with W7?

thank you :)

This error message occurs if there is a loss of network connectivity or your mail server is unavailable and Improper Account settings.

1. What type of email account is configured in Outlook (Example: POP, IMAP and Exchange Etc).

2. Were you able to send and receive emails before?

3. What is the security software installed?

4. What is the edition of outlook?

It may be an email profile issue. You may want to go into outlook 2003 and uncheck the cached exchange mode, open outlook then go back in and check use cached exchange mode and that will fix the problem.

You do know that you can change this setting through the control panel - mail section.
Inside there you can change the settings of your exchange account and disable/enable cache mode.

When you have cache mode enabled do you get any Sync errors in the sync folder in your Outlook?
In the bottom right hand corner of your outlook does it say 'Online' or disconnected?
It sounds like a problem on the exchange server or on your domain controller, it may be a problem with the users group.

This worked for the Outlook 2010 that I use. Thank you :)
