I would be grateful if someone can help me.

I have many many tables. Each table has two columns (Requirement # and requirement details).
Each requirement number is unique.
1.1 ABC
1.2 XYZ
1.n EDF

2.1 HHH
2.2 MMM

etc

Every time someone amends a requirement, I've to update the numbers. Is it possible to increment the row numbers using a formula?

ps: I can't use Excel as I've to use a template :(
